BA-Special Education M.Ed-Special Education M.Ed-Special Education teacher in Autism Special Education Grades (EC-12) English as a Second Language Supplemental (EC-12)
Hi! My name is Michelle Monge and I am going to be the ECSE co-teach PK teacher! I worked for the Department of Education of Puerto Rico for 7 years, Houston ISD for five years and this will be my third year working for KME. In total, I have fourteen years of teaching in Special Education. I love teaching but most of all, my passion and commitment is to special education students. I am super excited this year because I will be co-teaching Pre-kindergarten/ECSE.
I grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico and in July 2014, I moved to Houston, Texas. I have two master’s degrees one in Special Education and another in Autism. Over the past few years, I have become very aware of the impact teachers can have on the lives of their students and family. That is why I believe in teamwork and huge support home- school communication.
It is my hope that this year will be the basis for a great deal of dialogue and communication between us. We’ll discuss different themes concerning: what’s happening in our classroom, ways you can support your child’s learning at home, and ways that I can extend what you do at home in school. My hobbies are dancing, sing karaoke, try different adventures, explore nature, learn new things, have new experiences, spend time with my family and my dog Koa. I am so excited to get to know all of you and I look forward to a wonderful, virtual, and magical school year!
