The goal of the Transportation Department is to provide the safest, most reliable service possible for the students of New Caney ISD. The transportation department is responsible for transporting nearly 9,000 students to and from school each day.

New Caney ISD Offers Parent Portal for SMARTtag™ Transportation System

Smart Tag

Students will not be re-issued Smart Tag ID's every school year. Please hang on to your child's current Smart Tag over the summer. Smart Tag ID's may be purchased at any campus during the 23-24 school year. Transportation Services will no longer sell Smart Tag ID's.

Now Hiring Bus Drivers

$18.50/hour starting rate (plus experience for previous CDL experience)

We offer paid training for school bus drivers at $13.00/hour; plus, a sign on bonus of $1,000 with a CDL with P & S Endorsements and $500 without a CDL.

We also have a Referral Bonus Program available to ALL district staff. If you refer a driver you could earn $250 (without a CDL) or $500 (with a CDL with P & S Endorsements). All bonuses paid 1/2 when training is completed, and the other 1/2 after 6 months of employment.
